I recently left my wallet in the front seat of a taxicab in San Francisco. I made the mistake of carrying $50 in it, and since from what I got from the taxicab company, that lost and found is based on the honor system for their drivers, there is no way its ever coming back.
I had the sad task of calling to cancel credit cards, making a new duck tape wallet, and kicking myself for leaving my UO ID and $100 Trader Joe Gift card from Auntie Kay in my wallet (thanks Auntie Kay...sorry I didnt put it to good use). The moral of the story is dont carry around cash if you want people to return your wallet...I was just so excited to have cash again as my ATM card expired and my bank wouldnt send another one to any address except the one in Eugene (which doesnt help much in San Fran)and it wont arrive in Eugene as my mail is being forwarded to San Fran and so the replacement card keeps getting returned to Citizens bank.
Anyhow, I'm down to my last 2 weeks in San Francisco and not looking forward to burying myself in law books again. I'm on the hunt for a part time job in Eugene and have to figure out what to cook for dinner for a couple of Alex's friends who are coming over....any suggestions?

Ben,
What a rotten thing to happen. Does this mean I need to get you another gift card?? I just found out that one of my neighborhood friend's son died, so I want you to put everything in perspective.....it's just money and pain in the ass replacing stuff. You have your health, you have Alex, you have your family......and maybe you'll have a new gift card.....so don't sweat the small stuff. Feel better and enjoy your last two weeks in San Fran. love, AK
Thanks Auntie Kay. Cant wait to see you next week. Either on the east or west coast....
