First Oregon Cross Country Ski Trip

So this weekend I was lucky enough to enjoy a weekend cross country skiing get-a-way with these fine fellas. Directly to Ben's right is his roommate, Nick and a friend from school, Bob. Sir Nick is quite a character as you can tell from his carefully crafted mustache. Ben is very fond of Nick's mustache as you can tell in this picture. Molly and I are in the front seat and Tiga the dog is in the back. We packed the car and off we went for our adventure.

When we arrived we were shocked to see the mass amount of perfect powdery snow. In
my mind I thought "That's good that there is a lot of snow so when I fall it won't hurt as bad." This was my second time cross country skiing. The first time I went with Ben and Barbara and I was far behind them the whole time. This time I could somewhat catch up at least. Practice makes perfect right :) Ben, Nick, and Molly all who grew up in the snow were great! Bob and I were the new comers, but we both enjoyed it thoroughly.

After the 31/2 miles of twists and turns we made it to the lake where we relaxed on our Ben-made snow benches and ate lunch. When looking at the lake you could hardly tell a lake was there. It was frozen over with around 6 feet of snow over it. It was pretty amazing! While eating lunch we had a little visitor that would land on our hands to capture food. Aaron and Liz I am sure you know what kind of bird this is.

On our way back we took some silly pictures...

On the drive home we stopped at a brewery in Oakridge to cheers to our perfect day in the snow. The beers had very cool designs.
