New Years in Seattle

Al and I went to Seattle for New Years to be with a long time friend (basically a cousin) Morgan and her boyfriend Kevin. Kevin is in the construction business and he and he brother renovated their house recently so everything was modern and sparkley. You know like one of those "rain water fall" shower heads and speakers in the bathroom. And a heater that turns on at your feet when you enter the bathroom. Fancy stuff.

We toured around Seattle, met up with another of Al's friends (Mel and her boyfriend....what's his face....justin maybe?) and went through Pikes fish market (famous for throwing fish around). It was packed, and the fish throwing was not too spectacular, but I'm guessing its more of a show in the morning when they get the fish and set out their stands (like 15 feet of seafood- so throwing is necessary).

We also went Chinese Tea tasting which was fun. Makes you want to bust out wine vernacular....ohhhh, oaky undertones....Really good tea though. Made us want to buy a lot but too expensive. Like $20 + per equivalent of 20-30 loose leave tea bags.

When we got home, the giant loaf of bread I had made for dinner was gone and the bag on the kitchen floor, and Huckleberry the Dog looking slightly lumpy, shamed, and wheezy. This dog that barely makes it up to you knee and somehow managed to reach past the counter, pulled off the bread and consumed the whole thing. I did not know a dog could consume so much in one sitting.

Then it was time for New Years. Morgan's friend was hosting a "gold party" and Alex and I scoured the goodwill and found two pairs of gold pants and gold (well yellow) tops in one store. Who buys this still originally???

The apartment had this adorable little dog that went person to person standing on its hind legs begging for scraps. Obviously she knew her most effective move was.

At midnight we watched fireworks from the space needle from on top of the roof of that apartment building.

Waking up the next morning I remembered why we dont get drunk on champagne more than once a year. What a nasty hangover it makes. Nontheless, it was an unseasonable warm and sunny day out so we went out to a park along the water and played around, attended a post new years party at another friends house, ate, drank and were merry. Very short weekend trip, but very fun indeed.

it's actually just stickers that you file on to your nail. (or file the portion off your nail)

love your beard, Ben!
And that little dog looks like Charlie, so don't make fun of her!
Glad you and Alex had a good New Years. Fun to be young for sure.
