so......Alex's "fake cousin" as they were calling each other (family friends) got married over labor day weekend. She had the wedding at her mom's house in Port Townsend, WA. I got recruited to put together appetizers at the last minute. I made leek wrapped shrimp skewers with pickled carrot ribbons; in other words, they took forever to put together.
After the wedding we headed to the Maritime center for dinner, which was all sustainable and in season and stuff. Very delicious.
The next day I took pictures of stuff and pretended to be artsy and stuff.
Later that day, the bride and groom hosted a pig roast (kosher of course). They had tons more of booze, lots of games involving frisbees and knocking things down. They bought 13 acres and are planning on putting in a farm. There's no electricity or plumbing and stuff: so they lugged over a generator for lights and a port-a-potty for.....well....
glow in the dark frisbees. Game is to knock over the beer bottle on the pole and the opposing team tries to catch the bottle and the frisbee.
Lots of fun. cant wait until they actually have it up and running (its just undeveloped land at this point).
