In Oregon Now.

While I dont have many pictures of actual Oregon, I do have some pictures of me on my fancy new bike. Best $40 I've spent so far. Its a folding bike so it folds into about half its size. Even though this picture is blurry, its still bad a$$. Note the chain around my neck which doubles as bling and my bike lock. Come to find out the only other city leading Eugene in bike theft is NYC. Lets hope I dont become another statistic, its 3 miles to school from my house which is one hell of a long walk at 6am. And Mom I do wear my helmet, dont worry.

Classes start this week and I'm still technically employed, so lets hope there is no conflict. This will definitely be an uphill battle.....and books alone cost me $750 this semester...so much for having a food budget this semester. I hope they have a lot of free food events.

Hopefully your new bike comes equipped with a set of brakes. Your cousin Jessie has decided to ride a bike going in 'brake optional' mode AND go without a helmut (at least that is how we found her when we stopped by for a quickie visit coming back from our New England trip). Always a good thing to follow some of an old ma's advice, if you ask me.....but of course I'm a little biased towards old mas. I guess I'll have to send you goodie bags of some sort because I definitely don't want to think of Uncle Ben starving himself through law school!! Good luck with everything!!.....the wheels are awesome!! love, AK etal

Hey Ben,

Levin approves of your new bike, but he suggests you guard your precious brains better by buckling that helmet! I don't know if you've run across these comics yet, but now that you're officially in grad school, I thought I'd share with you. They talk about free food a lot, which I thought you'd appreciate! It looks like you have found the perfect bike to match your flava. I don't know about a helmet though, people might think you are a dork. That kind of bike should be ridden wearing either a uni-tard or wrestling singlet. A helmet only detracts. As I recall there is a bunch of free food at Joseph and Sandy's house. At least there was when I was going to school in Oregon.

Yo Ben,

How do we get a hold of you these days seeing as you are without a phone?
