Alex had classes through the week, but we managed to get lots of activities fit in. On Monday I visited a lawyer, Peter Furst, of whom I hope to intern with this summer. I've never been good at small talk, but it seemed to go well enough. On Tues and Wed we both buckled down and did a lot of school work and ate fancy dinners. We made lentil soups, curried salmon, curried vegetables, bread, cookies, etc. On thursday night we headed out to the museum which hosts a 21+ bar scene weekly. The food wasnt that good, but it was fun to sip wine and go through the gardens, exhibits.
The next day we walked to the water and had a picnic lunch. There was an old lady feeding the birds, but some guy in a car yelled at her so she left. But then the seagulls starting landing on his car and he stupidly tried to shoo them away with his hand which was holding a sandwich, which only made the birds braver. They sat on his car even after he started it and pulled out of the parking space, only after he starting going faster did they fly away. We also watched a guy dance/jog to music throughout the entire park, really funny, but sorry no video of that.
We then decided the Golden Gate Bridge was close enough to walk to, and as I had never walked across it, headed out. Along the way we borrowed a soccer ball and played soccer and Frisbee for a little. It turns out it was probably 2 miles or more away and with the bridge being 2.5 miles long, ended up being quite the hike.
The Next day we headed out to Golden Gate Park and walked all the way through to the beach.
The Beach was blindingly bright and crowded as I guess it was one of the first really nice days out and one of the first weekends of Spring. We jumped off sand dunes, frolicked, and got copious amounts of sand in our shoes.
We headed back and enjoyed the blossoms and people kind enough to take our pictures.
All in all it was a great spring break and I cant wait to get back down to San Francisco to see Alex again, but until then...back to the dim reality of law school. I took an overnight bus back to Eugene, and arrived at 6:30am on monday in the rain, and walked back home. It has been raining every day here so far. I'll be starting working as a GRF (graduate researching fellow) as well, so 20 less hrs per week to do anything fun. But the tuition waiver it gives me makes it well worth while. Monday night we had passover Sedar at my friend Gabriel's house, with a couple other friends. And today, back to the grind. Hope everyone is having a fabulous passover!!!!
