France/ Spain Vacation Part II- Sevilla

After the French Wedding extravaganza, Alex and I headed to Sevilla to meet up with her childhood friend Chelsea. Not only was it 40 degrees warmer than France, but the streets were lines with orange and palm trees and a familiar language. Its amazing how three days of communicating by grunting and pointing brings a new-found appreciation for language....despite how rusty my Spanish may be.

The streets of Sevilla are narrow and colorful, filled with interesting street art. Maybe because of something pounded into us from our mothers, we stopped for posed artistic photo shots...As men in Spain tended to wear Fedoras, Alex decided it was time for me to have one too.

Also everywhere, flamenco dresses...which are ridiculously expensive, like $400+ per dress. As Chelsea worked, Alex and I wandered the town.

One of the 2 highlights (building wise) of the Trip was the Real Alcazar- an old moor castle with wild peacock roaming the gardens and wild carp (ooooooo) in the fountains.

Next was Plaza de Toros (no bullfighting this time of year)..

And taking pictures of me leaning next to cool things

The 2nd really cool place was Plaza de Espana...too big to really capture its essence with a camera...but we tried.

...and we ended the town with a Flamenco show.

Next Stop Barcelona....(part III)...

Very nice photos. I second what Mom said. Also the fedora is quite snappy, and good for keeping your head from getting sun-burned.

Ben and Alex;
The first flamenco I saw was when I was 8 years old on an ocean liner going to the Mediterranean.....it's amazing.....it hasn't changed!! (haha) The trip looks like it was wonderful....wish I could have been your luggage carrier or something and gotten into some of those beautiful pics. love AK
