I know it's been forever since my last post, and I apologize, I am exceedingly boring and writing down "nothing happened this week again" would get really old. Plus this way there's a bit of mystique..... "maybe Ben's doing something so awesome he hasn't had the time to use a computer?"
I did however stumble onto a pile of decade old MREs ion Milo's garage that were going to be tossed. Each time I think, "oh, that's a shame, I wonder what they are like" but each time my short attention span gets the best of me. This time, Milo shoved one in my hands, and Mom was like "you should totally eat this decade old foreign substance that is likely years past it's expiration date- don't be such a sissy." Mom's good at encouragement like that.
So that's what I had for lunch today at work. I was expecting just freeze dried camping food, but the meal was a pasteurized wet packet with a self-heating water-activated unit included. So I pours some water onto it, wait the 10 minutes (eating crackers and fig bar that was also included during the wait), and a short while later- Presto- chicken beans and rice.
It was quite good actually and so far I have not shit myself nor vomited blood- so I'd call it a stunning success ( I hope the company uses this testimonial on their package) "A-Pack Emergency meal pouches- they wont give you the shits or make you vomit blood...I guarantee it, or your money back!!" (which is a good claim because if you are using these MREs it's probably the apocalypse and government currency will be useless)
