Mokelumne Wilderness

For our first Anniversary, Al and I went camping for 3 days in the Mokelumne Wilderness- hour south of Tahoe. We got stuck in traffic going out and camped at the M2 Winery in Lodi.

Unfortunately, the train runs a block away and was very active at night- so not the most restful.

The next morning we started on the Pacific Coast Trail going north from the Tamarack trailhead.

The landscape changed from granite boulders with strewn pines, from alien desertscape, to scree-topped mountain tops.

We camped just after the overpass into Carson's Pass.

The next day we hiked pass Roundtop, sisters, 4th of July Lake, all the way back to lost Lakes on the PCT. It was a very long day of hiking.
