Hobson Reunion

Scott's cousins and their kids and grand kids descended upon Yosemite last week. Most of whom I have never met before (well after my memory starts, I dont count toddler and prior age visits).



Since I was clueless Dad made me a cheat sheet of the hobson Cousins:


I had braced myself for the worse, (judging from the only relatives I only really knew from Scott being Uncle steve and crazy fran), but was pleasantly surprised. Cousin Brandy Reminded me a lot of Ilana in her mannerisms and they were all easy to spot as most sported bright red hair and freckles. As usual, I brought the camera, but forgot to take pictures, so you'll have to ask the 3 sisters for pictures of their families if interested.

The whole clan took over a hotel outside the Yosemite and spent much time gabbing and drinking (not necessarily in that order). We took a hike to Nevada falls via the john Muir trail on monday, cutting short our hopes to do half dome due to a late start. The weather was fantastic and there were pools of water speckling the path, making it a hike with a lot of refreshing breaks.

I followed some locals through a cave/crawl space, that traversed the cliff and spat you out 3/4 up the waterfall. The entrance of the cave was well hidden on the top of the cliff, with a drop into the mouth no bigger than how wide I am and obscured by granite slabs on both sides. Good way to loose the crowds.



On Tuesday we joined the rest of the clan on a boat ride on Bass lake. For being way up near Yosemite, it was really warm...and therefore crowded. We rented a pontoon boat.... which we almost sank.... It was a day of lounging, drinking, water sports, and drinking. Overall a great time had by all. Well worth the visit next year, and they are just as excited to meet Little Alden and Chainsaw Danger on the next round!
